The Alfred H Knight Commercial Support Graduate Programme is the perfect start for a graduate looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career with a Company at the forefront of the TIC (Testing, Inspection, Certification) industry, operating within the metals, minerals and solid fuel sectors. Based at our Headquarters in Prescot, Liverpool, the role will involve a one-year development programme. During which you will spend time learning about AHK, working within, and gaining an understanding of our business in its entirety.
Part of the Group Commercial Department, the Business Planning & Analysis team are business navigators that help drive the right strategic choices to maximise profitable and long-term growth. We work with colleagues across the business to ensure that decisions taken about where to deploy company resources are informed by the broader market context and aligned to group strategy. Supporting the group, divisionally, geographically, and functionally, our principal responsibilities include market research analysis, market planning, pipeline management, commercial business case support, tender bid support, and sales analysis and reporting. The company is at the cusp of its digital transformation as such the vision for our team is to provide the “data fuel” into the engine that supports and delivers valuable commercial intelligence globally, at pace.
Supporting the Commercial Business Partner, you will work within the Business Planning and Analysis department, a part of the Group Commercial function, to help AHK in its efforts to maintain profitable business growth. As part of the commercial graduate scheme, you will be handed responsibility from the get-go. You will engage and work collaboratively with the commercial and operational teams globally across the organisation. Your key responsibilities will include bid management, commercial business planning and general commercial support. You’ll cross-train and get exposure to all activities within the team during your first year in role. In the placement you will develop your technical, professional, personal and leadership skills.
