Field Supervisor – Baton Rouge/Lower Mississippi

Alfred H Knight (AHK) has an opportunity for a Field Supervisor to join our team, based in the Baton Rouge/Lower Mississippi area. AHK provides services to the mining, metals, refining, recycling and solid fuels industries in a variety of capacities to include auditing, supervision, sampling and analysis of metals and minerals derived from the previously mentioned practices.

Do you have what it takes?

Responsibilities: 

As a Field Supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring all activities are assigned as carried out according to standard methodology and client instructions. You will act as an independent party to verify the handling of products and cargo. Examples of some assignments may include: sampling from a product transfer points (from trucks, rail, barges, vessels, etc.); supervising and performing active sampling of client products and preparing resulting samples for shipment as necessary; performing basic sample reduction and field-based analytical procedures; communicating job status to the administrative team; ensuring proper calibration and maintenance of equipment.

  • Understanding of safe working practices, particularly with machinery and working on/around water and vessels.

Required Work Experience

  • Experience in material sampling, supervision and inspection practices or related areas is preferred.
  • Alternatively, experience in warehousing, port operations, logistics, processing or general hands-on tasks is desirable.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College degree or Trade School Certificate preferred.

Travel / Rotation Requirements

  • Travel may be required in accordance with business needs.
