Global Technical Manager

AHK has an exciting opportunity for a Global Technical Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Laboratory Director the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technical and quality leadership to the Group’s Analysis Division through the established management structure including; UK Quality Team, Group Technical Team, Regional GMs, Country GMs and key M&M Laboratory Managers appointed across the Group. Responsible for providing technical and management expertise, insight & troubleshooting expertise, chemical analysis insight and leadership to AHK’s network of Global Laboratory operations and its established outsourcing services through inspirational leadership in a consultative style

Do you have what it takes to become a Global Technical Manager?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight, you will need to display the following:

Required Work Experience

  • 10 years minimum experience in classical inorganic analytical chemistry, specific to metal and mineral commodities.
  • Has previous work experience within the Base Metals and Minerals industry commercial laboratory management environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of international laboratory standards and guidelines related to the industry.
  • Experience in the management and implementation of ISO EN: 17025: 2017.
  • Understanding of the commercial transactions undertaken within the industry and the corresponding importance of operational and technical execution.
  • Geographical awareness and cultural sensitivity. Proven ability to adapt to new industries/ environments and workplace cultures.
  • Leadership of and/or participation in projects and/or programmes.
  • Worked within an international matrix organisation, working across multiple countries, time zones and functions.
  • Experience of working with and managing a broad cross-section of people in terms of varied levels of seniority, technical expertise and cultural backgrounds.
  • Evidence of having embraced new challenges, quickly familiarising oneself in a new company in terms of company organisation structure, business goals, and internal/external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications 

Degree in Chemistry related discipline.


Overseas travel, generally no more than two weeks per trip,  may be required at times.
