Grain Inspector

WHAT IS ON OFFER

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Grain Inspector to join our Agricultural Services team. The Grain Inspector will be responsible for ensuring client instructions are carried out at agreed consignment locations, acting as an independent party to verify compliance to agreed processes and providing inspection, supervision and sampling services of agricultural commodities.

Locations covered: Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Alabama.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

Responsibilities

  • Attend inspection locations for the loading and unloading of agriculture cargoes in accordance with job instructions.
  • Supervise or or conduct physical sampling in accordance with USDA operational procedures.
  • Perform grading of agriculture commodities (Corn, Soybeans, Rice, Wheat) in accordance to USDA grade standards.
  • Routine maintenance and calibration of equipment.
  • Validate and communicate all results of inspection to the Operations Manager in accordance with standard operational procedures and controlled documents.
  • Maintain inspection records and ensure all work areas and equipment are clean and in a safe condition necessary for the performance of all job-related tasks.
  • Operate in accordance with company policies, ethics and health and safety policies and procedures at all times, including site specific requirements.

 

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE 

  • A valid and clean Driving Licence.
  • Maintain a professional and independent position for all assignments.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Computer literate and good mathematical skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Flexible working schedule.
  • This role will require domestic travel within the US.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in grading and inspection to USDA standards and procedures.
  • High School diploma (minimum).
