Health and Safety Advisor

What is on offer?

Alfred H Knight’s Energy Services division have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join the team in Dundonald. The Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for implementing AHK Group initiatives throughout the AHK UK function, and providing support to the continuous improvement of the ISO certificated Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems.

Do you have what it takes?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight, you will need to display the following:

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Company’s ISO certified Health, Safety & Environmental management system.
  • Coordinating operational risk assessments for all site operations.
  • Conducting regular H,S&E inspections, and ensuring corrective actions are addressed.
  • Recording and managing incident reports, and coordinating incident investigations as required.
  • Keeping up to date with, and ensuring AHK compliance with current health and safety legislation and good industry practice as part of their continuous professional development.
  • Attending Company Health and Safety Committee meetings & compiling minutes where required.
  • To provide practicable and professional H&S advice and assistance to staff at all levels.
  • To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Health and Safety Department.
  • There will be an expectation for regular travel to other AHK or client sites as required.

 

Required Knowledge and Work Experience

Essential

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • ISO certification experience.
  • Independent planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • A high degree of accuracy in work.
  • Must possess a proactive, positive attitude towards improving health & safety standards and developing a positive health and safety culture.
  • Good knowledge of MS office applications.
  • Good written and communication skills.
  • UK driving licence.

 

Desirable

  • Background experience of health & safety in a laboratory or similar environment.
  • Trained/experienced First Aider.

Hours of work – Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00
