ICP-MS Technician (Inorganic)

What is on offer?

Alfred H Knight are looking to recruit an experienced ICP-MS technician to support operations at our main laboratory in Prescot, Merseyside.

The role will primarily consist of the daily operation of an Agilent 7900 ICP-MS spectrometer for the analysis of inorganic samples.  The successful candidate will be responsible for not only the day to day running of the instrument, but will also be expected to be able to maintain the instrument’s performance by ways of simple maintenance and troubleshooting.  Method development will also be a key aspect of the role, as will be the preparation of calibration standards.

Please note, sample preparation will be carried out by other personnel.

The successful candidate will be expected to work with an existing team of instrument operators and support technicians that currently operate numerous ICP instruments from different manufacturers

Do you have what it takes?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight, you will need to display the following:

Required Knowledge and Work Experience

Essential

  • Three years ICP-MS experience (Agilent experience preferred but not critical)
  • Previous experience in method development and method validation
  • Ability to display a high level of maths and computer skills.
  • Accuracy

  • Ability to follow instruction
  • Identify problems / communicate to supervisors

 

Desirable

  • Experience with LIMS based data systems would be preferable but not essential as training will be provided.
