Infrastructure Engineer

WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the team based in Liverpool, UK.  You will play a vital role in supporting, maintaining, and optimising the organisation’s server infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and performance of core systems, including Active Directory, DNS, file services, and virtualisation platforms.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

 

Essential

  • Experience with Windows Server (2012, 2016 or 2019).
  • Ability to create/manage Domain Services and configuration including disaster recovery scenarios, managing security groups, delegation, OU structure, object types, and attributes.
  • Experience with Active Directory, VMWare and Veeam technologies.
  • Knowledge of the 3 large hyperscalers.
  • Experience with DNS and file services configuration.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions (Veeam).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

 

Required Competencies

  • Teamwork and multicultural awareness.
  • Leadership skills: initiative, effective communication, ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.

 

Required Work Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a large 24/7 enterprise and ITIL environment.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Microsoft certification (MCSA/MCSE Windows Server), Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, and / or Microsoft Certified Expert.
