AHK has an opportunity for an Inspector to join our team based in Rhode Island, USA. You will be responsible for ensuring client instructions are carried out at the consignment location, act as an independent party to verify compliance to agreed processes and provide details to clients regarding the handling of their product.

To be successful at Alfred H Knight, you will need to display the following:
Responsibilities
Send and receive email and phone communications for coordination and scheduling of assignments, and to communicate on status updates.
Carry out any assignments in accordance with the clients’ instructions and industry standards.
Provide written reports that summarise all operations carried out for any given assignment using provided templates.
Dispatch samples to Alfred H Knight North America or as instructed by the client (via UPS, FedEx, or DHL).
Ensure safety in the workplace and, in this respect, also ensure compliance with any and all instructions relating to the use and storage of material/equipment necessary for the performance of all job-related tasks.
Follow appropriate health and safety policies and procedures at all times, including site-specific requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours
Ability to communicate efficiently with work onsite and office-based staff.
Maintain a professional and independent position for all assignments.
Must be detail oriented and have the ability to convey details through written reports and photographs.
Must be reliable and able to organise and operate independently (training will be provided).
General computer literacy (Word, Excel, G-mail, Google Drive, etc).
Required Work Experience
Experience in material sampling and inspection practices is preferred.
Required Qualifications
Ability to lift 50 pounds and occasionally climb a ladder.
Must have a personal vehicle suitable for transportation to assignments.
TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credentials allow access to US Ports) preferred. If working in a locaction where TWIC is required, candidate must be able to pass the background and security requirements).
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Travel / Rotation Requirements
Depending on the location, some travel may be required, including overnight stays.
