Inspector

WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an Inspector to join our team in Tokyo, Japan. As an Inspector you will be responsible for ensuring client instructions are carried out at various consignment locations.  You will act as an independent party in order to verify compliance to agreed processes, and provide details to clients regarding the handling of their product.  Examples of some assignments would include: witnessing the processing of recyclable materials, conducting inventory counts, performing active sampling of client products, and preparing resulting samples for shipment as necessary.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE 

 

Essential 

  • To be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing with work sites and office-based staff.
  • Maintain a professional and independent position for all assignments.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and good attention to detail to properly convey details through written reports and photographs.
  • Must be reliable and able to organise and operate independently (training will be provided).
  • To be adaptable and flexible.
  • To be able to work in a team.
  • Ability to work from your own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.

 

Desirable

  • Be in possession of a valid driver’s licence.
  • Experience in commodity surveying, specific to metals and minerals commodities.

 

Travel / Rotation Requirements

  • It must be understood that all assignments may not fall within the referenced 350 mile radius, and there will be some need to provide coverage in other areas of the country, requiring more lengthy travel.
  • In some instances, extended travel and overnight stays will be required.
  • Ability to travel at short notice and flexibility to work on weekends (if required) based on assignment is a must.
  • Due to the nature of this industry and employment position, it must be noted that daily/weekly schedules are dictated by client appointments and their requirements, which are subject to change.
