Laboratory Administrator

What is on offer?

AHK has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Administrator to join our Precious Metal Department based in Prescot. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to a busy Laboratory team. As part of the job, you would have to carry out office administration tasks and use various laboratory instruments.

Do you have what it takes?

Responsibilities: 

  • The organization and weighing of the daily laboratory workload to meet agreed work schedules and targets, ensuring that weighing processes are performed in accordance with documented methods and procedure.
  • Ensuring that the balances that the post holder uses are regularly (daily) calibrated, and maintained clean and free from contamination at all times. In cases were balances are found to be working unsatisfactorily, it is the post holders responsibility to inform the Departmental Manager so that repair or maintenance can be organized
  • Assisting the Departmental Manager in setting out and implementing suitable training programmes that will ensure that the post holder is sufficiently well trained to carry out weighing duties accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensuring that the balance room work areas and work stations are kept clean and tidy and free from test sample contamination and other debris.
  • Undertaking other duties of an appropriate nature in consultation with their Departmental Manager & Operations Manager.
  • Maintaining a professional standard and appearance during office hours and while promoting the company when on company business.
  • Ensuring the Company’s Health & Safety policy is applied effectively in areas under the Post Holder’s control.
  • Ensuring at all times that a high degree of accuracy and precision is applied to methods and procedures through incorporating and promoting good laboratory practice principles.

Hours of work – Monday – Friday – 08:30 – 17:00.
