Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Coordinator to join our team based in Liverpool. Reporting to the inspections Group Quality Manager, you will actively support the continuous improvement and delivery of the AHK quality approach within group inspection activity. You will work alongside other functions in the group such as group technical, the laboratory teams and overseas offices, meeting the day to day quality management system requirements of the AHK management and to ensure our commitment accreditations are achieved.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance and support of the inspections Quality Management System.
Assist with the management and successful maintenance of ISO 17020 Inspections and accreditations across the Alfred H Knight Group.
Assist with the management and control of the standardised Alfred H Knight Quality Management System publications and accreditation documents. To include manuals, ISO standards and supporting documentation such as standard operating procedures, templates and other quality-based documentation.
To support the UK audit team with the scheduling and performing of audits and the distribution of close out improvements and non conformances post audit to fulfil the needs of the quality management system.
Acting in Support of the UK technical audit team and to assist in preparing the audit timetable.
The scheduling of audits and effective closure of corrective action activities.
To support area manager investigations in relation to non-conformity in inspections activity and ensuring corrective action is effective in solving the root cause issues.
To assist, monitor and review the progress of the complaints system to ensure it is effective in dealing with the recorded complaints in accordance with the documented procedures.
Prepare and participate in regular site-based quality meetings.
To work alongside the technical team to provide support to the organisation where technical input is required.
To raise and record any issues with regard to non-conforming operation within ISO 17020.
To support any ongoing suitable investigations in the area of preventive and improvement actions, making sure they are documented and capable of being implemented within the individual area.
To compile any key performance indicator information related to specific inspection areas and site offices.
To assist in the creation of SOP’s aiding and compiling documents to areas where experience and training may be required.
To undergo any suitable training and development courses as deemed appropriate by the company in the development of the role.
To maintain a consistent and forward-thinking approach to the development of the Alfred H Knight inspection Quality Management Systems and to identify learning opportunities.
To assist and take part in third party audit visits.
Undertaking other duties of an appropriate nature in consultation with the inspections Group Quality Manager.
Required Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years proven experience in a commercial inspection organisation or an ISO 17020 accredited organisation.
Preferable – audit trained to be compliant with ISO 17020.
Good knowledge and experience of ISO 9001/ ISO 17025 or ISO 17020.
Knowledge of quality management systems operation and organisations such as CQI.
IT skills – Microsoft and Google applications.
Preferable – experience of the metals and minerals industry.
Required Qualifications
A good general education (Mathematics, Science, English and Chemistry)
HNC/BSc or equivalent in relevant subject.
