WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Rice Operations Manager to join our Agricultural Services team in Stuttgart, Arkansas. You will be responsible for receiving job assignments and organising Inspectors to attend inspections to ensure client instructions are carried out in accordance with agreed industry and company standard operating procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage field operations and team of Inspectors.
  • Recruitment and training of Inspectors.
  • Technical competency in agricultural commodities (rice, corn, soybeans and wheat).
  • Leadership and dispatch of Inspectors to attend inspections.
  • Issue job instructions for the inspection team detailing requirements of inspection.
  • Ensure operations are performed in accordance with industry and company standard operating procedures.
  • Development of internal controls to measure quality of operations.
  • Quality management and validation of Inspectors technical grading.
  • Routine maintenance and calibration of equipment.
  • Customer focus and relationship management.
  • Business Development.
  • Operational recommendations and capital expenditure requirements.
  • Ensure all field operations are carried out in accordance with company policies, ethics and safety policies.
  • Leadership skills and positive attitude.
  • Customer focus.
  • Communicates effectively to their direct reports and management.
  • Drives engagement and directs work effectively.

 

Required Qualifications 

  • High School diploma (minimum).

 

Required Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience in the rice industry (preferable).
  • Technical competency in rice, any knowledge in any other agricultural commodities i.e. corn, soybeans or wheat (preferable).
  • Experience of the rice industry with knowledge of key stakeholders (preferable).

 

Travel / Rotation Requirements

  • This role will require domestic travel within the US and occasional international travel.
