Security Guard

What is on offer?

We have an opportunity for a Security Guard to join our Facilities department in Knowsley. You will be responsible for ensuring the general security and safety of the relevant Alfred H Knight sites at all times.

Do you have what it takes?

Security Guard Responsibilities: 

  • Compliance with security assignment instructions.
  • Carry out security/fire patrols.
  • Monitoring of fire, security alarm, access control and CCTV systems.
  • Dealing with emergency call outs in accordance with site escalation procedures.
  • Maintenance of security assignment log.
  •  Liaising with Police and other authorities as required.
  • Safe guard premises to ensure the building/site is secure.
  • Perform opening and locking up of premises.
  • Report any incidents or accidents.
  • To wear uniform and any protective clothing provided by the Company.
  • Ensuring safety in the workplace and ensuring compliance with all instructions relating to the use of equipment/information necessary in the performance of tasks.
  • Follow health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Be proactive and diligent whilst carrying out daily duties.
  • Provide shift cover when required (i.e. Holidays and Sickness).
  • To undertake other tasks of an appropriate nature in consultation with the Site Manager.

To be successful at Alfred H Knight, you will need to display the following:

Required Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Experience in use of CCTV operations.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.

Desirable

  •  Previous experience in the security industry.
  • Current driving licence.
  •  SIA Licence – Security Guarding or Door supervision as a minimum.
  • Licence, training and experience in use of CCTV operations, public space surveillance.
  • First Aider.
  • Fire Warden training.

Hours of work: 37 hours per week – Friday 17.00-06.00, Saturday & Sunday 18.00—06.00.
