Zero Waste Scotland LogoWHAT IS ZERO WASTE SCOTLAND?

Zero Waste Scotland (ZWS) is a not-for-profit environmental organisation, funded by the Scottish Government and European Regional Development Fund.

Their aim is to lead Scotland to use products and resources responsibly and help lessen the country’s impact on climate change.

Using evidence and insight, the organisation informs policies and motivates individuals and businesses to embrace the environmental, economic, and social benefits of a circular economy. This includes operating dedicated frameworks to help organisations to reach qualified and experienced waste service suppliers.

HOW IS ALFRED H KNIGHT HELPING BUSINESSES AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES REACH NET ZERO?

As industry leaders in the analysis of household and municipal waste, AHK supports local and central government by providing key research, analysis and insights into the behavioural habits of communities.

We are a trusted member of the ZWS framework and are utilising research and evaluation to deliver key insights into views, behaviours and the effectiveness of services.

Our support and services help local authorities to make informed decisions and develop techniques to enable them to meet waste management and recycling targets and help Scotland to reach Net Zero.

SUPPORTING THE HIGHLANDS AND EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE

Most recently, AHK’s expert analysts have been hard at work in the Highlands and East Dunbartonshire. They have been delivering key waste composition analysis services to help the local council to build an accurate and reliable profile of their waste streams and support a circular economy.

Our state-of-the-art sample preparation facility in Dundonald, Kilmarnock enables us to meet increased demand for waste composition analysis whilst continuing to deliver a swift and accurate service, irrespective of location.
