WHAT IS ON OFFER
Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner/Glass washer to join our Facilities department in Liverpool, UK. You will be providing support to business operations and washing Laboratory Glassware / Plastic / PTFE.
Responsibilities
- Primary role: laboratory glass washing duties, including glass, plastic, and PTFE containers used in laboratory operations as per SOP.
- Secondary role: general cleaning of offices, laboratories, toilets, showers, etc., using various equipment and methods.
- Report any incidents or accidents.
- To wear any protective clothing provided by the company.
- Ensure safety in the workplace, ensuring compliance with all instructions relating to the use and storage of materials/equipment necessary for the performance of tasks.
- Follow health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
- To undertake other tasks of an appropriate nature in consultation with your Line Manager.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Ability to Work Unsupervised: A high degree of self-motivation and the capacity to manage time and tasks effectively without constant direct oversight. This includes taking the initiative to identify and address cleaning needs proactively and maintaining productivity throughout the shift.
- Good Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach is required to ensure all areas are cleaned to the highest standard.
- Flexible Working Attitude: A willingness to adapt to varying demands, shift schedules, and occasional changes in the scope of work.
- Adaptable: The ability to handle unexpected situations or changes in cleaning protocols, equipment, or products efficiently.
- COSHH Knowledge (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health): A fundamental understanding and practical application of COSHH regulations is mandatory. This includes the safe storage, handling, use, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and materials, ensuring personal safety and the safety of others in the working environment. Full adherence to health and safety procedures is paramount.
