XRF Sample Preparation Coordinator

WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a XRF Sample Preparation Coordinator to join our team in Tanzania. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all sample preparation and XRF analysis activities and you will ensure all results are accurate, timely and of high quality, all while maintaining strict compliance with company standards and procedures.

This involves the daily coordination and supervision of laboratory operations, including moisture analysis and oven processing, to ensure every sample is handled according to required standards. You will also be responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of SOPs in line with Company TOGs, while ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Beyond the technical workflow, you will supervise and support laboratory staff to meet performance targets and ensure accurate data documentation, while ensuring all health, safety, and environmental standards are strictly upheld throughout the sample preparation facility.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE 

Required Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of XRF and sample preparation processes
• Computer literate
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational and coordination abilities
• Ability to manage teams and work under minimal supervision

Required Work Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in XRF/ Sample Preparation or a related field
• Proven experience in moisture content analysis and oven operations
• Experience in preparing SOPs and Coordinating Sample prep operations
• Understanding of and experience working in line with applicable ISO standards (ISO 17020 and/or ISO 17025)

Required Qualifications

• Certificate in Metallurgy or related field

Required Languages

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
