Sample Preparation Technician

WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an opportunity for a Sample Preparation Technician to join our laboratory in Liverpool.  Reporting to the Departmental Manager, you will be responsible for executing sample preparation procedures with high precision and accuracy for various samples/commodities submitted for chemical analysis. Your key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to good laboratory practices, maintaining and calibrating sample preparation equipment, and keeping work areas clean to prevent contamination. Additionally, you will assist in developing training programs, uphold professional standards, and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

 

Essential 

  • Flexible in terms of the ability to operate and contribute in a changing environment.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • A team player, working alongside others with positivity and respect.
  • Presenting a positive attitude and taking pride in their work.
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and the ability to use your own initiative.
  • A willingness to take full ownership of the role and to go above and beyond.
  • Keen interest in Chemistry and / other scientific principles.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Higher National Education level knowledge or equivalent vocational experience.
  • A good knowledge of MS office applications.
  • GCSE’s: Chemistry ‘C’ Grade or above.

 

Shift Pattern:

2pm -10pm – Monday – Friday
