Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a People Partner to join our team in Jakarta, Indonesia. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with managers and employees, providing trusted, commercially informed people support across the full employee lifecycle.

As a People Partner, you will act as a key link between the People team and the business, delivering pragmatic HR solutions that support organisational performance, capability, and engagement. You will contribute to a wide range of people activities, including employee relations, payroll, people processes, workforce planning, and organisational development.

While your focus will be regional, you will be part of a sophisticated global network collaborating with stakeholders across multiple regions, gaining valuable international exposure and insight into global People practices. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight, you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential 

  • Proven experience in navigating Indonesian labour regulations, including Manpower reports, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan/Kesehatan, and tax compliance.
  • Extensive experience managing end-to-end HR operations, from onboarding and contract variation to complex offboarding and personnel file integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage monthly payroll processing with high accuracy, liaising with external vendors and ensuring statutory compliance.
  • Strong track record of managing disciplinary actions, grievances and investigations while providing risk-mitigating advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering with leaders to identify talent gaps, design reporting lines, and support succession planning.

Required Competencies

  • Business Partnering and Stakeholder Management: Ability to build trusted relationships with managers and leaders, influencing decisions and supporting business objectives.
  • Performance Coaching: A proactive approach to enabling a high-performance culture by coaching managers on feedback, accountability and development.
  • Operational Excellence: Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving:  Proactive mindset with the ability to identify improvements in people processes and implement practical solutions.
  • Analytical Thinking and Reporting: High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex HRIS data, workforce analytics, and financial/statutory audits.

Required Work Experience

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in HR operations, HR generalist, payroll, or people advisory roles, with at least 2 years in supervisory level.
  • Demonstrable track record of progression within a relevant People function in a complex/matrix structure, preferably in a global company.
  • Demonstrated experience managing payroll and statutory HR compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Certification in payroll management or HR-related BNSP certification is desirable.

Required Languages 

  • Fluent in English.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia.

Travel 

  • Travel domestically to branch offices/sites as often as required.
