Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Operations (Minerals and Metals) to join our team based in Jakarta, Indonesia. PT AHK Testing Indonesia provides independent analysis and inspection services to the metals, minerals and solid fuels industries. We have a well-earned reputation for our knowledge and professionalism in all aspects of weighing, sampling and analysis.

The purpose of the role is to manage a team overseeing AHK Minerals and Metals operations at PT AHK Testing Indonesia. Responsibilities involve coordinating operations, maintaining company standards, evaluating manager performance, budgeting, reporting progress, and setting departmental targets. Additionally, the role ensures efficient administrative operations, high-quality customer service, goal setting, and team motivation within specified timelines. The position involves devising strategies for workflow enhancement, maximizing productivity, and increasing profitability. As a senior management role, it entails overseeing departmental activities, collaborating with various managers, and supporting the President Director on departmental evolution, commercial matters, and technical aspects.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

 

Essential 

  • Valid driving licence.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google suite applications.
  • Emotional maturity and discipline to be able to keep the project and the team on track.
  • Comprehensive applied knowledge and expertise, gained at a professional level, in Business Management.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering practices and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the principles and processes of computerised business and operating systems.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Knowledge and understanding of integrated program planning, development, and administration within a public institution environment.
  • Skill in organising resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organising, prioritising, and scheduling work assignments
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to personnel.
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.

 

Required Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a management environment and participation as a member of management teams would also prove to be very important in handling the challenges involved in this role.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Engineering, Business or Management studies. This requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis

  • Bahasa Indonesia
  • English

 

Travel / Rotation Requirements 

  • Travel as required both domestically and internationally
  • Must have a valid passport and ability to obtain visas as necessary
