Tax and Accounting Officer


Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity through its Indonesia entity, PT AHK Testing Indonesia, who is looking for a Tax and Accounting Officer to join our team based in Jakarta. PT AHK Testing Indonesia provides independent analysis and inspection services to the metals, minerals and solid fuels industries. As Tax and Accounting Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations, preparing financial reports, and supporting the accounting team in various tasks. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and meeting tax obligations.

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:


Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Tax Reporting of Art. 21, 23/26, 4(2) in accordance with tax regulations.
  • Monthly reporting of VAT in & out, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
  • Preparation of all documents and data related to tax audits and tax filings.
  • Coordination with the Cost Accountant, HR, and Tax Agent to prepare employee income tax data (monthly and yearly).
  • Collection of Bukti Potong from customers and issuance of Tax Receipts for WHT 23 & art 4(2) to vendors.
  • Posting of Accounts Receivable invoices and issuance of VAT invoices for billing purposes.
  • Collaboration with the Accounting & Finance team for end-of-month closing processes.
  • Checking all tax exposures on each company’s transactions to minimize risks and ensure compliance.



Required Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours

  • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English, with proficiency in other languages being a plus.
  • A thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations related to Article 21 (Employee Income Tax), Article 23/26 (Income Tax for Foreign Entities), and Article 4(2) (Withholding Tax).
  • Knowledge of VAT regulations, including the procedures for reporting VAT in and out.
  • Familiarity with payroll tax regulations and procedures for calculating and reporting employee income tax.
  • Understanding the concept of withholding tax (WHT) and the requirements for collecting and remitting WHT from customers/vendors.
  • Understanding tax exposures and identifying potential risks associated with company transactions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel required for data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management tasks.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Sincere, honest, loyal, passionate about learning new knowledge, disciplined, and accurate in work.


Required Work Experience

  • Having a minimum of 2 years of working experience in a related field, preferably in a service company.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Accountancy. This requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
  • Possession of Brevet A/B is mandatory.


Required Languages

  • Bahasa Indonesia.
  • English.
