Alfred H Knight will be in attendance and presenting at the 11th World Conference of Sampling and Blending (WCSB), taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa from the 21st to the 23rd of May 2024.
The Conference will gather those interested in the Theory of Sampling (TOS), allowing them to network and discuss best practices, experiences, applications and standards. The theme for this year’s event will again be to improve sampling practices in all sectors of sustainable science, technology, and industry.
As part of the event, Aldwin Vogel, Regional General Manager – Europe, will be delivering his paper “Advancing Circular Economy Materials through TOS Compliant Sampling: A Case Study of the IBA-HNF Sampling Hub”.
In his presentation, Aldwin will explore the transformative impact of TOS-compliant sampling and sample preparation processes on circular economy materials, focusing on the practical application within Alfred H Knight’s IBA-HNF Sampling Hub in the Netherlands. The session will highlight the journey to achieving representative sampling of Incinerator Bottom Ash – Heavy Non-Ferrous Metals Fraction (IBA-HNF), sharing insights into the challenges faced, the innovative solutions implemented and the significant benefits these efforts have brought to Alfred H Knight and its stakeholders.
If you’re attending this year’s event, you can catch Aldwin’s presentation at Misty Hills Conference Centre, Muldersdrift, Johannesburg from the 21st to the 23rd of May, or on the 24th of May during the technical tours to Multotec or Rand refinery. Aldwin will also be present at the conference as a council member of IPGSA, the association that has the authority to award the right to a Country and an organising committee to host the biennial World Conferences on Sampling and Blending.
